We are located in a suburb of St. Louis, MO. USA. Before St. Louis was known as the Gateway City, it was known as Mound City (a nickname used by riverboat pilots) due to the abundance of burial mounds that were located in downtown St. Louis at that time.
The Mounds are now gone (except the one in the picture below) they were scraped off and put into sink holes during a Cholera epidemic. We still like the name however, and want to keep the history of our area alive.
Mound City Collectibles and Auctions LLC (Mound City Auctions) was started by Rob and Tina Weiman when they mostly sold items on eBay. The Weimans sold hundreds of thousands of dollars of items on eBay and became regulars in the local auction circuit during this time. started taking any auction he could get his hands on. As our company grew we hired our son to work for us full time. Rob (we call him Lite) Weiman (not a jr.) started helping us with marketing and other duties (set-ups, auctions, tear-downs, moves, etc.) and has worked for us full time now for years. Our daughter Ali works for us part-time as does our daughter-in-law Lisa. Rob (Classic, the dad) Weiman and Rob (Lite) are members of the National Auctioneer’s Association (NAA). Rob Classic AARE CES has earned his Accredited Auctioneer of Real Estate Certificate (AARE) from the NAA making him one of only about 366 people to hold this certificate in the entire USA. Rob Classic also holds the NAA’s Certified Estate Specialist designation. Rob Lite also holds the CES designation. Rob Classic and Rob Lite are currently attending the Certified Auction Institute (CAI) and are 2nd year candidates in this program which the NAA refers to as the Master’s Degree for Auctioneers. Tina Weiman CAGA CES PRI is a member of the Certified Appraiser’s Guild of America, a NAA Certified Estate Specialist and a graduate of the Professional Ringman’s Institute.
